This exhibition is anchored by 48 drawings of sites Michael Brophy visited, including Leslie Gulch in southeastern Oregon, based on a map given to him by renowned photographer Terry Toedtemeier (1947–2008). This material, in turn, became the basis of a book by the artist, telling the story of the map, the journey, and the drawings. Alongside these drawings will be a selection of photographs by Toedtemeier. January 12th, the date of the artist talk, will also be a celebration of the book publishing and signing. The show will also feature new paintings and gouaches.
