For the month of June, Russo Lee Gallery is pleased to exhibit Tender Tales of Remembering by Kim Osgood. This new body of work reflects a lifelong engagement with the natural world, informed by travel, spiritual study, and years spent hiking and climbing throughout the Pacific Northwest. Drawing from forests, gardens, and mountain landscapes, her compositions are filled with birds, trees, flowers, and the presence of volcanoes. The eruption of Mt. Saint Helens proved a formative event for the artist, a reminder of nature's capacity for both destruction and renewal. Osgood’s paintings and monotypes evoke spaces that feel observed and dreamlike, conveying wonder and connection to the natural world.
Kim Osgood has exhibited her work since the mid-1980s and has been part of exhibitions including the Oregon Biennial, Portland Art Museum; PICA; PCVA; Washington State University, Pullman; and Coos Art Museum, Coos Bay, OR. She studied at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY and the Rhode Island School of Design. Her work is part of numerous collections including the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle, WA; Nordstrom Inc, in multiple states; Legacy Emanuel Hospital, Portland, OR; Meyer Memorial Trust, Portland, OR; MOMO International, New York; Oregon History Center, Portland, OR; Portland Art Museum, Portland, OR; Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art, Eugene, OR; and the Museum of Northwest Art, La Conner, WA.
