This month, The Office features Anya Roberts-Toney, with her show The Love Object. Her paintings refer to objects of desire in both human and object form, mostly lifted from fashion advertising in women’s magazines. Roberts-Toney explores female power through the objects associated with common female consumerism, inviting the viewer to reexamine baubles and beauty, perfume and accessories. The paintings are both Romantic and disassociated, intimate yet distant.
