Michael T. Hensley

In April 2017, Russo Lee Gallery debuted a year-long exhibition program with The Office, in which we are hosting a series of month-long exhibitions of work by invited, unrepresented artists in the region curated by gallery art consultant, Eva Lake. 

This month, in The Office we are pleased to feature Nocturnal Emissary, a painting show by Michael T. Hensley. Michael’s work features active layers built up through a variety of media and approaches. Using house paint, graphite, spray paint and a transfer technique, the paintings reference graffiti with an Expressionist finesse. Hensley studied at the Pacific Northwest College of Art and Portland State University. His work is included in the collections of the City of Portland, City of Seattle, Oregon Health & Science University  Portland, OR; Microsoft, Seattle, WA; Twitter, San Francisco, CA; and Ralph Lauren, New York, NY. Hensley’s work can also be seen in several public art settings in Portland.
