For the month of June, Russo Lee Gallery is pleased to present ensemblecast by Dan Gluibizzi. Typically Gluibizzi uses a diverse range of digital imagery, selfies, and social media profiles as models for his portraiture and figurative work. His style feels inclusive, global, and optimistic, even when tackling difficult issues such a lockdown, isolation, and endless swiping. In this exhibition, the artist will premier oil on canvas works, along with the acrylic and watercolor works on paper he is known for. The oil paintings in particular have a rich, classic vibe and add an expressive variety of texture to the work. Dan Gluibizzi, based in Portland, Oregon, has an international reputation. He has illustrated for the New York Times and has received press from Wired, Juxtapoz, White Wall Magazine, The Observer, Print Magazine, Beautiful Decay, and New American Paintings. He received a BFA at Kutztown, University of Pennsylvania, and an MFA from DAAP, University of Cincinnati.
